Ashmit Patel's Guide to Undies

Recently, Ashmit Patel shared his 'body' - some pic, by the way, to depict the guide to what underwear to wear, (originally published here)  and when. Here are some shots and text.

When to wear... Trunks
These hybrid underwear are a mix of briefs and boxer briefs. They're best suited to guys with slim legs.

Wear them with:
Looser formal clothing for more support and less wedgies.

Mid-rise briefs
This pared-down style is cut higher on the leg and lower on the waist-a solid choice for jobs that require sitting down all day. "It looks best on a slim or athletic build," says celebrity stylist Rishi Raj.

Wear them with: Low-rise jeans, says Raj.

When to wear... boxer briefs
Guys too stocky for trunks can take solace here, says Kukreja. Fly-front cuts offer lesser support than briefs, but newer pouch versions manage your business.

Wear them with:
Clothes that you'd wear for a job that requires a lot of physical activity.

When to wear... Briefs
Briefs offer an attractive profile and hold your package in place, so absolutely anyone can wear them... comfortably.

Wear them with: Your gym wear.

Modern Brief : Jockey Zone

Jockey - once upon a time this name made a big impression among all. One would love to show off their red colored waist band peeping out from their low waist pants. Not any more now. But still, Jockey knows how to 'please' customer and provide utmost comfort to the user.

Jockey Zone is also dubbed as 'new, young' series. That is different from classic designs of the company. And I feel, the Modern Brief is the best from the lot. Why? Lets check out.

Appearance & Fit : Look wise this is a basic brief - if you think like that, you are wrong. This is perhaps one of the finest cut brief jockey has made for man. It fits perfectly to your crotch line. And the bulge area (which, a man always concerned with) is stitched in a way that it provides a perfect shape to your bulge, as well as providing a comfortable fit to your parts. Its pouch is designed in a way from front, that it easily houses your male parts in best, natural way. Not pressing it too much, nor leaving it hanging around. And because of the curvy front design, your bulge looks perfect with anything you were. (check out the close up below). And the backside - is perfect coverage. You will never end up showing your 'bikini' line if you wear formal pants.

Fabric : Fabric for this is brief, is one of the basic one. Cotton. Nothing else. So by the time it face some wash after wash, it might become a bit rough, but nevertheless still comfortable and top it all, great for sweaty atmosphere. Colors do not fade even after few months !! (Personal experience ;) Nor do the shape. Only concern with the build is the 'show off your brand' belt. It is not seamless. It is stitched in backside. So, ''Jockey'' written on belt, gets disturbed look backside (where you want to show off the most) and a stitch of belt is very much visible. But, for a moderate budget (110 Rs. per piece), Not a bad deal.

Final Verdict :

Style : Comfortably good.
Suitable for : When you want to show off that bulge. ;) Well, suitable with anything to be frank.
Fit & Quality : Perfect fit. Nothing too much, nothing less.
Best Thing : Feel comfortable, yet look sexy.

Overall : 5 / 5

Thong, Never goes wrong

I have never worn a thong. Thong - yes that confusing pair of undies that lead you to think whether its yours or your GF's. But well, there is always a bit of adventurer inside you, isn't it?

So there, I bought this sexy looking thing called - Thong from ebay.in. Well, and then the real adventure starts.
The 'see through thong' doesn't bear any company's logo. Don't know why. But for 370 bucks, one always wants a brand to be associated with his undies. But never mind, when you are having a sexy piece of cloth. It is made of mash like (fish net like, if i put the words of the listing on seller's site)  cloth, 100% Polyester. That means your better half will have to try hard to breath.

So mostly advised season to wear this - Winter. Or, few hours earlier if you have a surprise midnight visitor ;). The fit is almost perfect. Though we have people in our country with 'smaller' pelvis area (know what I mean), so there it may cause a 'little' problem. But the main concern area here, is the backside. Yes, the 'bikini' styled backside, which we are not yet used to. See for yourself. ;) But as I said earlier - Adventure :) And well, your GF (or BF) will absolutely like it, given you have bleached your butt-cheeks.

Verdict ---

Style : Fantastic.
Suitable for : That night out when you expect some fireworks.
Fit and Quality : Awesome fit, the quality though demands extra care while washing.
Best thing  : The 'show it all' bulge it gives.

Overall : 4 / 5

VIP Frenchie : Old is (not) Gold

Hardly there is anyone who doesn't know this brand. Isn't it? This is the most famous brief [once upon a time of course]. Way before any international brand came into action in India, VIP was the leader. And the 'Frenchie' brand created quite a stir in market with their 'bold' ads.

Made with 100% cotton and with body hugging fit & double layer contoured pouch for maximum comfort - that's what the manufacturer claims. Lets see how correct they are.

First and foremost, it is not so comfortable at all. just see its design closely - it is quite larger than the natural 'V' shape that the pelvis area forms. So, most of the time men ends up 'adjusting' the groin. Also, it doesn't form itself to suit the shape of bulge, and pushes it inside the body. For a hot country, this is almost avoidable. Though full marks to the cloth that is cotton - no sweat. But disadvantage of it - color fades. And last thing - the appearance - it doesn't show off the bulge, rather presses it inside. Also, no 'brand show off' stripe out there. So if it peeps out of your pants, it looks like panties. Duh. But come on, for just 75 buck, this can be your savior in 'no laundry' days.

Overall ---

Style : Not at all stylish.
Suitable for : Lazy day at home.
Fit and Quality : Fit is an issue, quality isn't.
Best thing  : Price

Overall : 2 / 5

Lastly, I leave you with this antique print ad of this survivor of the old age.
